Maroc : Hausse des exportations dans les secteurs agricole et agroalimentaire

At the end of October 2019, Moroccan exports of goods strengthened by 3.1% to reach 235.2 billion dirhams. This development results in particular from the positive contribution of the agriculture and agrifood sectors, and to a lesser extent from phosphates and derivatives.

In Morocco, exports from the agriculture and agri-food sector increased by 5.3% to around 50 billion dirhams at the end of October 2019, representing 21.3% of total exports and contributing 36.1% to their rise. This development is due to the increase in sales in the agriculture, forestry and hunting segment from 11.9% to 20.4 billion dirhams and that of the food industry from 0.7% to 27.5 billion.

For their part, exports of phosphates and derivatives recorded a slight increase of 0.9% to reach 42.7 billion dirhams, representing 18.1% of total exports. This development is related to the joint effect of the increase in sales of phosphoric acid from 9.3% to 11.9 billion dirhams and to a lesser extent that of natural and chemical fertilizers from 0.3% to 24 , 7 billion, and the decline in those of phosphates by 10.3% to 6.1 billion dirhams.
