Carlo is one of the Founders and Director of Lake Turkana Wind Power Project which aims to provide 310MW of reliable, low cost wind power to the Kenya national grid, equivalent to approximately 15% of the current installed electricity generating capacity. It comprises of 365 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 850kW, and a high voltage substation that will be connected to the national grid through an associated transmission line currently being constructed by the Kenyan Government. Dr Greg Mills heads the Johannesburg-based Brenthurst Foundation, established in 2005 by the Oppenheimer family to strengthen African economic performance. Olusegun Obasanjo is a former Nigerian President who led Africa’s most populous country from 1999 to 2007. He is credited for overseeing the country’s voluntary transition to civil democratic rule that accelerated economic growth, and has been in public service for over 50 years.
H.E. Obasajno has played a key role in international mediation efforts in various African countries, as well as in the establishment and success of regional bodies, including the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Selim Eddé is Google’s Head of Public Policy, Middle East and North Africa, leading public policy campaigns across the full range of policy areas that impact Google and the web. A passionate public policy leader, Eddé is a thought leader on building innovation programs with Governments and has a particular expertise in labour markets, entrepreneurship and job creation initiatives.
Mr. Eddé has advised Governments in MENA and Africa, providing strategic programs and was previously the Vice President of Government Affairs at SAP, setting strategy, devising and implementing plans Government Relations at SAP in MENA. Formerly, Selim was the Country Development Officer at Cisco, and Senior Regional Lead at Hewlett-Packard and IBM. A frequent speaker at regional and international events, with appearances in the specialised media, Eddé graduated from Imperial College-London with a Master’s degree in management sciences.

Shaka Kariuki serves as Co-CEO of Kuramo Capital Management. Previously, he served in a number of leadership roles at the USD 9 billion Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators (DMBA), most recently as Head of Global Equity Markets across asset classes, Head of Fixed Income, and Portfolio Manager of Global Private Equity. Shaka also headed the investments of DMBA Affiliates in Developed and Emerging Markets, including Africa. Prior to DMBA, Shaka was a Senior Member of the Global Finance team at Agilent Technologies where he managed finance teams in Asia, Europe, Japan and USA. He currently serves as Executive Chairman of NAS Foods in Ethiopia, and is on the Board of Leon Business Solutions in Zimbabwe, Solo in Nigeria, Sepfluor in South Africa and the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.

In addition, Sylvain has personally been involved in the restructuring of many companies as executive, adviser or through senior executive roles. Mr. Vieujot is the co-founder and Chairman of the Equitativa Real Estate. He is also co-founder, Deputy Chairman and CEO of the REIT Manager. Mr. Vieujot transferred the holding company of “Société de la Tour Eiffel” – the first French newly listed REIT (SIIC) – from Luxembourg to the DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre). In 2010, Equitativa Real Estate together with Dubai Islamic Bank launched Equitativa Dubai, the REIT Manager of Emirates REIT. In 2014, Emirates REIT was the first REIT listed on Nasdaq Dubai and in 2016, it became the largest Sharia’s Compliant REIT in the world. Prior to his involvement in Equitativa Real Estate, Mr. Vieujot co-founded several companies, including Freelance.com and Platre.com. He listed Freelance.com on the French Stock Market (Alternext of Euronext). Mr. Vieujot has a Masters in Entrepreneurship from HEC, Paris, France and is an Engineer in Computer Science & Micro-electronics.

Tarik Hamane is an Executive Director – Advisor to the Chairman of Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN), in charge of project development, including the transfer of renewable projects and assets from Office National of Electricity and Potable Water (ONEE) to MASEN, and their deployment. He has more than 12 years of managerial experience in leading the development of large scale power generation projects in Morocco.
Prior to joining MASEN, Tarik was the Executive Director of ONEE’s Power Generation Projects and Programs, and also served as Head of ONEE’s Gas Turbine Division.
Tarik is an engineer with an MBA from Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées Paris, France, a Specialized Master’s degree in Industrial IT, and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation.

Tariq Bin Hendi is currently an Executive Vice President and the Head of Wealth Products & Advisory at Emirates NBD Group, having previously served as the CEO of Emirates NBD Asset Management. He has almost two decades of experience, primarily focused on asset management, private equity and investment banking. Prior to his current role, Tariq held various roles at Commercial Bank of Dubai, Mubadala, Citigroup, Dubai Holding, Delta Airlines and UPS. He is currently a board member of the publicly listed entities ENBD REIT (NASDAQ) and AXA Green Crescent (ADX), having previously served on the Board of Aramex. In 1997, Wayne Koonin qualified as a South African Chartered Accountant. He has 15 years’ experience in the mining sector where he worked for internationally listed mining and exploration companies and raised over $1bn in capital and $500m in debt. In 2014 he was appointed as Group Finance Director of JSE listed chemicals group Omnia Limited. In 2016 and 2017, Wayne was nominated as one of South Africa’s top 25 CFO’s and won the top award for Finance and Technology in 2017. He specialises in corporate turnarounds and has extensive experience in legal, tax, corporate finance, regulatory, investor relations and information technology.

Yann joined Swiss Re Direct Investment in 2014 as the Head of Africa for Private Equity and Strategic Acquisitions, taking on responsibility for originating and executing transactions and monitoring investee companies throughout Africa. Prior to that, he worked as a Principal at Actis, based in Lagos, covering West Africa transactions. Yann founded and is currently the Chairman of Africa Bridge investment Partners, an investment holding company that focuses on start-up and early stage companies, currently holding a portfolio of 5 companies in Central Africa. Yann started his career at KPMG as a Consultant in New York.

Initially managing the family trading business, he established his first manufacturing venture in 1975 – Chemicotex industries. He then established MAC Group in the 1980’s and expanded the business portfolio to Insurance, Banking, Real Estate, Agribusiness,
Shipping and Logistics and Services sectors, within Tanzania and the East Africa regions.
He is currently the Chairman of Mac Group, Heritage Insurance Company Tanzania, Strategis Insurance Company, Chemi & Cotex Industries and PIL Tanzania. He also sits on the Board and advises on several other successful businesses in Tanzania and East Africa.

Zaahir has close to 10 years’ experience in International Banking and Finance. He has recently been appointed Head of Energy and Commodities Finance team at the Corporate & Institutional Banking division of MCB following his active involvement in building relationships with key clients and in the development of landmark commodity transactions with a focus on Oil and Gas. He has worked extensively originating and structuring trade finance including pre-export, inventory and receivables finance facilities for African importers and exporters.
Prior to joining MCB, Zaahir was an Analyst within the Global Banking and Markets division at Royal Bank of Scotland.
