ALN together with Anjarwalla, Collins & Haidermota (ALN’s regional office in UAE), hosted its second ‘Africa: Bridging the Gulf’ conference at the Park Hyatt Dubai, on the 21-22nd October 2015.
The conference brought together approximately 500 thought leaders on investing and doing business in Africa to discuss the sectors and regions in Africa that provide the greatest opportunities for foreign investors, while analysing the legal and regulatory implications of doing business on the continent. The event was graced by dignitaries across different countries including His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan of the UAE, a delegation of senior officials from the Judiciary of Zambia, led by the Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Madam Irene Mambilima and Kenya’s Solicitor General, Mr. Njee Muturi. We also had the pleasure of hosting well-known business leaders across Africa and other parts of the world.
At the two-day conference, participants, drawn from different industries gave their insights on sectors such as Energy, Banking & Finance, Oil & Gas, Commercial property, Hospitality, Private Equity and Commercial Property on the African continent. Carlo is one of the Founders and Director of Lake Turkana Wind Power Project which aims to provide 310MW of reliable, low cost wind power to the Kenya national grid, equivalent to approximately 15% of the current installed electricity generating capacity.
