Africa Regional Growth 2018 – 2019

Highlights:

• Africa is expecting to grow 3.9 percent in 2019.
• The per capita income growth of the continent is very low compared to world performance at 1.1-1.3 percent in 2018-2019. This remains a challenge for Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 2: No Poverty and Zero Hunger.
• East Africa benefits from a recovery from droughts and an increase of manufacturing infrastructure.
